Facilitator – Mary Ann Dawson
A fun group for anyone 75 and over who get together once a month for an outing. We have toured the Governor’s Mansion, visited the Historical Society, played Bunco, along with many other fun activities. Our outings always include lunch and wonderful fellowship.
After School Kids (ASK)
Facilitator – Marcia Wischropp
ASK is an outreach ministry whose mission is to guide children to know, love, and follow Jesus Christ. All children in kindergarten – 5th grade are invited to come to the LUMC every Wednesday, September – April, from 3:15 – 4:45, for fun, fellowship, crafts, snacks, and sharing the gospel in work and song. Children are bussed from the school to the Church each Wednesday.
(Get Refreshed on Wednesdays)
Hours: 5:45 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
Get Refreshed on Wednesdays (GROW) was created to provide a meal, fellowship, and participation in small group classes for everyone. The meal starts at 5:45 and ends at 6:30. There will be a short worship service from 6:30 to 6:35 followed with Adult Education/Small groups for all ages! Classes begin at 6:35 and last until 8:00 (September through May). A nursery is provided for infants and toddlers (let us know in advance).
Lenten Study – “He Chose the Nails” by Max Lucado. First Session – February 21, 2018
This group serves as an outreach to the community for young mothers to get together for fellowship, support, and mentoring. All mothers (from their time of pregnancy until their child graduates from kindergarten) are welcome to join this fun and educational group. We meet the 1st Wednesday of each month from September to April, after the community meal, from 6:35 – 8:00, for fellowship, speakers, small groups with great discussions and advice, and fun easy crafts.
Child care is provided.

Prayer Shawl Ministry
This is a group for anyone who wants to knit or crochet shawls to be given to people in the community who need God’s comforting presence (i.e. those suffering a loss, illness, or celebrating a joy). We meet twice a month: on the 1st and 3rd Thursday at 6:30 p.m. We will only meet on the 2nd Thursday in July and August. The fellowship at these meetings is both inspiring and comforting. The shawls are prayed over and blessed during a worship service before being given away. In the few years we have been meeting, we have shared God’s love with many.
Facilitated by Ann Robison
Everyone can benefit from stretching on a regular basis. This group meets every Tuesday morning in the church basement at 9:30. Stretching routines can prevent injuries, improve posture and circulation, and help you become more limber and relaxed. Open to all ages, we work on aligning our spine and practice deep breathing through a few tai chi moves.
United Methodist Women (UMW): a community of women whose goal is to know God and join together in fellowship, growing in our faith, and
serving others through mission. Our UMW is made up of small groups of women, each with its own mission (i.e. prayer shawl, quilting, MOPS, family dinners). These groups meet individually for their unique mission, and come together as a general group quarterly (March, June, Sept., and Dec.). We work together to expand the ministries of the global church. Our meetings are on the 2nd Monday of each month.
Vacation Bible School
May 29, 2018 to June 2, 2018
Join us at Vacation Bible School as we explore how to put our faith
into action! In this year’s mission-focused VBS, kids will experience God’s unstoppable love and discover how to fuel up and move in and through life with God. Children will spend their time doing crafts, music, recreation and much more at the Lyndon United Methodist Church.
Children should be at least 4 years of age and/or completed one year of preschool.
Older children (those that have completed 3rd grade and up) will be spending the day offsite enjoying the great outdoors! They will depart from the church each morning (transportation provided; please wear appropriate footwear).
